If you have made the decision to home educate your child and believe they would benefit from additional support, I can offer tailored packages to meet your needs.
Currently, I support various home educated students to access various subjects both 1-1 and in groups.

I currently home educate my child, can you help support their learning?
As face to face tuition is allowed to restart, some parents and students may wish to return to this traditional setup as soon as possible. I can offer face to face tuition if this is what is required however, online tuition can be beneficial for many students for different reasons.
Online tuition allows tutors and tutees to access a wide range of resources, allowing flexibility and multimedia approaches to be used at short notice. It can also be less intrusive than having a tutor visit your house as students who are anxious know a session is timebound and less intimidating.

Can I have face to face tuition?
To book tutoring sessions, use the contact form on the home page or any of the details on the 'Contact us' page. I will aim to contact you on the same day to arrange a suitable time for an initial meeting. We will discuss your child's needs, what you would like to gain from tutoring and availability.

How do I book tuition?
What's the minimum time to work with a tutor?
Unlike some tuition services, with SBT Education you are not tied in to a minimum number of sessions. I aim to make tutoring accessible, engaging and productive but if you choose to end sessions for any reason, you will not be forced to continue for a termination period.

After each session I will send an email giving an overview of what was covered in the session. I use an online whiteboard which is accessible to students throughout the week to aide revision. This whiteboard is personal to each student and is accessible as long as you have an internet connection.
Can I review my previous sessions?
Before starting sessions, we will discuss what outcomes you would like from tutoring. The number of sessions required is individual and varies depending on need and desired outcomes, so there is no blanket answer. If tuition is focused on test preparation then five - ten sessions may be sufficient, whereas ongoing tuition can help develop confidence and build subject competence.

My child is disengaging as they are not being challenged. How can you ensure they are being pushed academically?
My circumstances have changed. Do I need to stop tuition?

Disengagement in a subject can occur for many reasons including boredom. If your child enjoyed a subject and was previously thriving but has started to lose interest, it is possible they are not being sufficiently challenged. Tuition can provide the opportunity to extend their understanding. Having experience across KS2, KS3 and GCSE gives me the experience to develop subjects such as maths and science in an age appropriate and engaging way. By linking subjects with other interests, I aim to develop relevant and interesting programmes.
I aim to make expert tuition accessible to as many as possible, so operate a flexible pricing structure. If your circumstances change and you would like to continue tuition for your child, there are various options upon request.
